* Korean Proficiency Grants: 100,000 KRW per month for scholars who have valid TOPIK level 5 or 6.

Scholarship Duration and Eligibility Criteria
Graduate Program Duration:
Master’s Degree: 1 year Language Courses + 2 year Degree Courses
Doctoral Degree: 1 year Language Courses + 3 year Degree Courses
Eligibility Criteria for Graduate Program
Applicants must:
Hold citizenship of NIIED designated countries that are invited to take part in the GKS program.
* Korean citizens and Koreans holding dual citizenship are not permitted to apply for this program.
Be under the age of 40 as of September 1st, 2024. However, an academic professor who are under 45 years of age as of September 1st, 2024 that also holds a citizenship of one of the Official Development Assistant (ODA) recipients are eligible to apply.
Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree as of July 31, 2024.
* Applicants who have graduated from a high school in Korea or have completed an undergraduate program, a master's program, or a doctoral program in Korea are not eligible to apply for the program. (Exception: GKS scholars)
Have maintained the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) equivalent to or higher than 80% in their previous degree program.
All applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.

Undergraduate Program Duration:
Bachelor's Degree: 1 year of Korean language course + 4-6 years of undergraduate program.
Associate Degree Program: 1 year of Korean language course + 2-3 years for associate degree program.

Applicants must:
Hold citizenship of NIIED designated countries that are invited to take part in the GKS program.
* Korean citizens and Koreans holding dual citizenship are not permitted to apply for this program.
Be under the age of 25 as of March 1st, 2024.
Have graduated from high school.
* Applicants who have graduated from high school in Korea applicants who have bachelor’s degree are not eligible to apply for the program.
All applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.
